What's On My Desk? 21/1

It's been a bit of a squeeze to find crafty time over the last few days. Lots and lots of post-school meetings (some productive; some not so productive), have really been cutting into my evening crafty time. Is it bad that in one rather arduous meeting today, I started thinking about my crochet granny blanket? Just think how many more rows I'd be crocheting if it were socially acceptable to crochet away during meetings.

On Sunday, I had a blissful hour continuing my "number one" project. You'll see some progress has been made, although I'm not quite ready for the final "ta-dah" moment. A couple more hours one evening and a couple of cups of tea should sort it out. Any more guesses about what I'm making!?

Does anybody else fit in time for crafting at work?

  2. I'm a homemaker and home school teacher, so I fit in my crafting when I'm not supposed to be doing something else, lol! Although, like you, I am thinking about it when it gets boring!!!! No clue what your "1s" are for but getting very curious!!!! Hoping you have more time to craft this week.

    Happy Crafting!

    1. It can be tricky fitting everything in. If I were in your shoes I'd find it so difficult to juggle everything! x

  3. Isn't there any possibility you bring your crocheting to those meetings? Now that would be something! I hope you have a wonderful week ahead, with lots of time to create! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #51

  4. I think crocheting in meetings should definitely be allowed, think how much more interesting they would be. Unfortunately, I never have time to think about crafting at work but definitely make up for it when I get home.
    Have a good week.

  5. I have a little tote with a small journal, a pencil, a aquabrush, and a tiny watercolor palette. I take it around with me and work while I am sitting. No one minds..and it starts some conversations lol. I truly think your hands can be busy while you are listening intently! Shel#71

  8. You could say that you have too much kinetic energy and that's why you crochet during meetings. Sometimes I do crafty things at work but not too often, lots of web browsing though. You are making the number 1.... for a first birthday? For a one-year anniversary? For a number one winning team? Because you are the only 1? So many possibilities. Thanks for the visit earlier! 11. I don't see why crochet or knitting should be forbidden at a meeting where you don't have to devote time to take notes. I was asked once to put mine away after sitting in the office waiting room and I just carried it in and kept on knitting. The person asked me did I mind putting it away and I told him yes I did was there I a reason I couldn't continue and he told me he didn't think I could pay attention to him and the knitting. I told him not to mistake my ability to pay attention as being due to my knitting but more like my fatigue from sitting in the waiting room for over an hour. The meeting went off without a hitch. I have a bag loaded down with small projects, knitting, crochet, embroidery that I keep in the car just for this reason. I would take it in to work when I knew we weren't going to be busy that night. Crochet away! exceptions would be when it would be rude (a funeral) or unprofessional (job interview) in my books. Vickie #33

  12. I often knit when we have a teachers meating. The headmaster doesn't really like it, but she hasn't ordered not to. Your number ones look lovely, looks like they are going to little students?
